Curriculum and Learning Program
To learn is to grow, to change, and to live. Instructional approaches and methods are varied in an attempt to meet the various learning styles and needs of students and to help them integrate concepts, skills and attitudes. The faculty continually reviews and evaluates the content and instructional materials in each subject area. Textbooks, along with state of the art technology and manipulatives provide for advanced learning opportunities and creative expression. Blessed Trinity School follows the guidelines established by the Florida Sunshine State Standards as well as the Diocese of Orlando curriculum guidelines.

EARLY CHILDHOOD
The program developed by the Kindergarten staff promotes maximum spiritual, physical, emotional and intellectual development for the young child. On a practical level, these objectives are achieved by providing the young child with a warm and stimulating environment and the opportunity to interact with other children within the total Christian atmosphere of the Blessed Trinity community. Play is an important way to learn for the young child and is an essential part of the curriculum. Play experiences are geared to the individual needs of the child. Our students are exposed to a print rich environment and begin a formalized reading and mathematic program in Kindergarten. Emphasis is placed on learning from the immediate environment and in providing many concrete experiences consistent with the developmental stages of young children. Our Kindergarten program provides spiritual and social opportunities for all early learners.
ELEMENTARY
Classes at the elementary level (Grades 1-5) are primarily self-contained. Emphasis at the primary level (Grades 1-2) is placed on Religion, Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, P.E., Health, Computer, and Library. Throughout the year a variety of activities are instituted to insure growth and responsibility. Much emphasis is placed on the child's need to develop good organizational skills and study habits that will facilitate future success in school. Each student is offered a wide range of learning opportunities with emphasis on Christian formation.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
Blessed Trinity Middle School commits itself to recognizing early adolescence as a unique period in the lives of students, during which they must cope with a changing self and complex world. Our mission is to offer a program that provides a Christian environment, which fosters academic excellence while providing for spiritual, physical and intellectual growth. Students will be exposed to a variety of learning experiences, thereby encouraging development of the whole child. Middle school students will be provided ample opportunities as they are continually prepared for high school.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
A distinctive quality of Blessed Trinity School is its commitment to the building of a faith community. The faculty and staff understand they have been "called" to the ministry of Catholic schooling. This means they do not only teach academia, but also strive to provide an atmosphere that freely shares faith in Jesus Christ, prayer and service to others. Special time during the year has been set apart to provide opportunities for continuous growth in our Catholic faith. Faculty, staff, students and parents attend the 8:30 a.m. Friday Mass as a total school community. Students in grades K-8 prepare and participate in weekly Liturgy and other special occasions. Grades 3-8 have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent. Special collections for food, clothing, toys and other necessary household items are collected throughout the year. Thanks to the generosity of our students and their families, those in need are taken care of through the ministry of Brothers' Keeper. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist will be shared with students in the 2nd grade. Confirmation preparation will be shared with students in the 8th grade.
HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
The Health Education program at Blessed Trinity is in accord with Florida State guidelines. All students in grades K-8 receive instruction in major health topics including nutrition, physical fitness, mental, physical and dental health, value awareness, drug and alcohol use, sexuality, human growth and development, safety, disease control and prevention. All students participate in physical education classes weekly. Blessed Trinity school is committed to building a strong mind and a healthy body.
TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
Blessed Trinity School uses emerging technologies as valuable tools for communication and learning. Advanced technologies aid in the human development of our youth as we engage in the fourfold character of the ministry of education: message, community, worship and service. Blessed Trinity School recognizes the importance of incorporating modern technology into all areas of the curriculum to ensure that our students will be prepared, enthusiastic, and productive members of their world community. All students receive instruction appropriate to their grade level. Every classroom is equipped with networked multimedia work stations and high speed internet connections that enable teachers to enhance lessons with technology. All students receive hands-on instruction and curriculum integration in our computer labs. Keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation use, and various subject specific programs are an integral part of the technology curricula.
