STANDARDIZED TESTING

 

Students in grades 3-8 take the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) in the fall semester.  The results of the ITBS are used by teachers to help identify strengths and limitations in individual student performance. Results of these tests also serve as a benchmark for concepts that need to be reinforced or explained more fully.

 

This standardized test assesses student performance in the following areas:

Reading

Vocabulary

Comprehension

 

Language

Spelling

Capitalization

Punctuation

Usage and Expression

 

Mathematics

Concepts and Estimation

Computation

Problem Solving & Data Interpretation

 

Social Studies

 

Science
